Cinematographer | Director | Gaffer | Camera Operator

He recently worked as the Director of Photography for two university capstone short films, ‘Last June’ and ‘Hide and Seek’. He also assisted on two other student projects as a gaffer and camera operator.

Luca is enthusiastic to engage in new projects and even recently directed and shot a music video for an emerging Australian artist.

Luca McDonald is a filmmaker and cinematographer with a passion for creatively utilising and experimenting with the visual medium to capture and share striking stories. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Communications (Media Arts and Production) and a Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney.

From making YouTube videos as a child to his own short film ‘Bloodwood’ (2021), he has a passion for capturing moments and provoking audiences.

Luca is determined to keep learning as he progresses into the industry, and is eager to work on more exciting projects in the future.
